Wellington Square is future-facing, taking steps toward a sustainable future for our retailers and customers. We are re-thinking energy, water and waste. Through innovative systems and careful measures, we can minimise our impact on the environment — together.
Heating and cooling
In 2021, we installed 12 locally designed and manufactured Actron Air units on our roof. This fully electric system provides energy efficient heating and Cooling at Wellington Square.
We are proud to say that heating and cooling at Wellington square is now all electric.
Lighting
In 2020, we upgraded all lighting to LED lights. We installed 149 new lights externally and 15 internally. Many of our internal lights were already LED. These lights are more energy efficient and have a longer lifespan than other lighting options. Ultimately, this lowers our overall energy use.
Solar panels
In April 2021 we installed 99KW of solar panels on our roof. This sustainable source of energy powers our common areas. We’re proud of how much CO2 this initiative has saved:
